Yuval Orly, a citizen of Israel, is quickly becoming one of the most remarkable landscape artists on the art scene since his graduation from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in 2003. A visionary, Yuval Orly’s oil canvases are both masterful and unique in concept. Influenced by the painterly style of the Post-Impressionists, he uses illuminating light and dappled colors to create landscapes filled with mesmerizing and transcendental images. His unfocused dreamlike images are slightly distorted, and look to be in motion as if we were to gaze at a landscape from a fast moving vehicle. Orly has said he tries to capture distant memories from different places throughout his life, and just like the paintings, his memories are not always focused. The dreamlike quality of his images, are mystical in nature and evoke a sense of well-being.
Orly says, “Art is the only field through which you can travel in time and bring to the surface memories as if they were a roadmap etched in your mind, whether they be your own or memories of others.”
We are captivated by each brushstroke of flickering and blended colors, and the placid soft cubistic and melting forms of his serene landscapes. Each piece has a sublime message on the importance of revisiting a memory and connecting to the simple harmony and grandeur found in nature.
Yuval Orly’s paintings have been sold to private collectors in Israel, and throughout the United States.
